Relationships are key at Taree Christian College as we provide pastoral care and support through a broad range of avenues. The foremost support comes through student relationships built by daily connection with peers and staff. In Secondary School, these relationships are intentionally developed by placing our camps in Term 1 to assist students in making relational connections in preparation for the coming year.
All staff at school are available to pray with and for anyone who requests it. Our College Chaplain provides a listening ear and assists students to problem solve towards their preferred future.
Our College Counsellors provide expert pastoral care advice through individual appointments, small group sessions on a range of topics and presentations at Chapel services.
For our Aboriginal students, Uncle Mick promotes our inclusive environment through passionately handing down Koori culture to our primary classes. Uncle Mick is very approachable and always available for pastoral care to our Indigenous and non-Indigenous students.Year 12 students also have the option of having a Mentor Teacher to assist with academic guidance.

The college and its teachers owe a common law duty of care to take reasonable steps to protect students from any injury that may be reasonably foreseen. This requires teachers and principals not just to react to situations as they arise but to engage in appropriate risk management to reduce the risk of injury.
